Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, has vowed to pay N20million compensation to every household of soldiers and policemen killed by members of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB)in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor additionally promised to rebuild all burnt police stations in Oyigbo and make sure the terrorist organisation not exists in Rivers.
Wike, in an announcement signed by his Special Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, spoke when he paid a condolence go to to the Rivers Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan and households of the slain policemen on the Rivers State Police Command on Wednesday.

He mentioned the State Authorities would help the police to make sure all IPOB members, who masterminded killing of the policemen and soldiers, in addition to the wanton destruction of police stations in Oyigbo have been apprehended to face the full wrath of the law.
He mentioned: “IPOB masterminded the killing of our gallant officers of the Nigerian Police and Military. We wish to state clearly that Rivers State Authorities will help you to ensure that any of the perpetrators of this hideous crime doesn’t go free.
“Enough is enough. You can not proceed to kill our policemen who have not done anything; who have not committed any crime”.
The Governor, who was emotional when he saw the grieving wives and kids of the deceased policemen, vowed to make sure that IPOB would not exists in any a part of Rivers.
“The killing of policemen was one crime that the State authorities won’t ever condone,” he mentioned.
