Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, yesterday denied the support of the presidential ambition of a former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, described the ones supporting as narrative as “illiterate interlopers.”
A viral online quote had claimed that the famed playwright vowed to campaign for Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who will be contesting in 2023 general election.
Purportedly describing the politician as his pal, the statement had quoted Soyinka as pronouncing that even if he had by no means concerned himself in politics, he used to be able to drag his weight to be sure that his, “very long time pal within the 1993 NADECO struggle” become the next Nigerian leader.”

However Soyinka’s denied the statement of the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, who stated that he is endorsing Tinubu.
Tinubu knowledgeable President Muhammadu Buhari of his goal to vie for the Presidency in 2023, on Monday, January 10.
On the other hand, Soyinka stated the viral social media endorsement is false information.
