Former United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has called on the President, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Nigerian Military to ‘cease killing’ #EndSARS protesters within the country.
The ex-First Lady made this known on Tuesday evening shortly after troopers reportedly shot at protesters on the Lekki tollgate area of Lagos State.
“I’m calling on @mbuhari and the @hqnigerianarmy to stop killing young #EndSARS protesters. #StopNigeriaGovernment,” Clinton tweeted.
The #EndSARS protesters have been demonstrating in opposition to police brutality and extrajudicial killings on the Lekki tollgate for over every week.
Related demonstrations have been staged in several parts of the state and the nation.

In the meantime, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered an investigation into Tuesday night incident.
The state commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, made this known in an announcement after the assault.
The assertion partly learn, “There have been stories of capturing on the Lekki Toll Plaza, following the 24-hour curfew imposed on Lagos State to cease criminals who hid underneath the #EndSARS protests to unleash mayhem on harmless residents.
“The State Authorities has ordered an investigation into the incident. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has advised the security agents not to arrest anybody on account of the curfew, which he urges residents to watch for the peaceable environment all of us cherish.”
