It was like a bolt out of the blues for guests at the 84th birthday celebration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday when the former Nigerian president revealed that he had battled and survived COVID-19.
For one, there was no speculation or report that the former President examined positive for the deadly virus before now.
However talking at a colloquium organized to have a good time his birthday held on the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta on Friday, the former President mentioned he tested positive for COVID-19.
However he added that he had no signs of the illness for the three days he battled with it.
Obasanjo mentioned he pulled by way of the experience with the assist and recommendation of his daughter, Iyabo Obasanjo–Bello, an epidemiologist

He mentioned, “It will shock you that I used to be tested positive for COVID-19.
“I called them to come and test me, they got here on a Saturday, I didn’t get the result until Wednesday and it came out positive, however I didn’t see any symptoms.
“They got here three days after mentioned I’m negative. That’s three days after I examined positive.
“My daughter, Iyabo, is an epidemiologist and I called her to explain, she mentioned maybe they tested me at the later stage of my being positive.
