Orubebe Holds Private Meeting With Wike After Dumping PDP

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, on Thursday, held a personal meeting with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt.

Orubebe’s consult with Wike comes three days after he left his party by tendering a letter addressed to the PDP National Chairman, Senator lyorchia Ayu.

In the letter which was acknowledged by the office of the party’s chairman, Orubebe believes the PDP is not ready to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections.

Wike can also be aggrieved with the result of the 2023 PDP presidential primaries which he lost to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Following Atiku’s good fortune in flying the PDP flag, many believed Wike could be thought to be the vice-presidential candidate of the party.

Alternatively, Atiku thought to be Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate, even as the opposition party strategies to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

As a part of reconciliatory strikes, the PDP presidential candidate arrange a committee to pacify Wike in order that the party can also be totally set for next year general election.

Despite the fact that the Rivers governor had vowed to not go back to PDP, he has been preserving a chain of conferences with most top politicians in Port Harcourt.

Aside from Orubebe, politicians who’ve visited Wike come with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.
