Ondo 2020: I’m in the race to win – Jegede

The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) within the Saturday’s election in Ondo State, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, has denied rumours that he has withdrawn from the race and collapsed his construction into one other political party.

Jegede, in a press release issued by his media aide, Mr Gbenga Akinmoyo, stated he stays the candidate to beat in the Saturday’s election.

‘Within the final 72 hours, Eyitayo Jegede has obtained help from 11 out of the 16 different governorship candidates who collapsed their structures for him and the PDP. He has signed the Peace Accord confirming his dedication to a violence-free election.

‘Jegede has meticulously worked to complete his campaign tour throughout the length and breadth of Ondo State and simply yesterday held the closing rally in an elaborate and vibrant ceremony at Ondo West Local Government Area the place hundreds of supporters joined Jegede to obtain the PDP nationwide officers from Abuja led by the Nationwide Chairman Uche Secondus, a number of PDP governors and former governors led by the Chairman of PDP Governor’s Discussion board, Aminu Tambuwal within the presence of an extended checklist of celebration chieftains and stalwarts from throughout Nigeria.

‘Regardless of the extraordinarily tight campaign schedule, Jegede has additionally honoured the invites of the organisers of the reside governorship debates which he attended in-person to reply questions and deal with the voters on his Manifesto and a plea to the related authorities for the necessity to get pleasure from a free, truthful, clear and credible election.

‘Some candidates have been conspicuously absent from each debates despite the fact that they’d already accomplished their mish-mash campaigns. Eyitayo Jegede is just not solely within the race, he stays the candidate to beat,’ he added.
