Nigerian Governors beg #EndSARS protesters to end the protest

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has appealed to #EndSARS protesters to put an end to their nationwide protests.

The forum made the decision in a communiqué issued by its Chairman and Ekiti State Governor Mr Kayode Fayemi, in Abuja on Monday after its 20th emergency meeting.

“The continuation of the protest has uncovered the delicate financial fundamentals of the nation, significantly as legal components and hoodlums have hijacked the protests by maiming harmless residents, looting and destroying properties.’’

“The forum resolved to endorse the decision by demonstrators for improved governance, predicated on an enforcement regime that takes into cognisance the basic human rights and liberties of all residents within the nation, ” the communique learn.

The NGF disclosed that the body had additionally resolved to act on each demand made by the #EndSARS protesters.

It, nonetheless, expressed concern over the shifting nature of the calls for, saying that the event creates uncertainty over the precise expectation and ultimate purpose of the protesters. (NAN)
