Igbo youths hit at Secondus over Atiku candidacy

A coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has tackled the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus over his latest assertion that the party’s 2023 presidential ticket was open to all individuals and geopolitical zones.

They described the party leader’s position as unpatriotic, stating that he was pushed by the will to retain his office because the PDP National Chairman.

The group additionally claimed that Secondus simply instructed Nigerians he was an individualistic politician whose sole intention in politics was his personal gain.

An announcement by COSEYL’s President Normal, Goodluck Ibem and Secretary Normal, Kanice Igwe, yesterday, was emphatic that the 2023 presidency was for the South East.

The assertion famous that Igbo had paid sufficient sacrifice for the occasion together with giving it the best and most constant assist since 1998.

Additionally, they puzzled how Secondus might wake-up to say {that a} party that believed a lot in zoning and enshrined zoning of political offices in its structure had instantly thrown away that part in a single day just because, he have to be re-elected

“This his selfish sport plan won’t work. PDP is morally and constitutional obligated to zone the presidential ticket of the occasion to South-East geopolitical zone as a result of it’s the solely zone that has not produced Nigerian president earlier than.

“The individuals of the South-East have paid their dues within the improvement and development of the nation and now could be the time for the party to pay back Ndigbo for its years of assist and solidarity to the PDP. It’s no secret that South East and Ndigbo wherever they’re have at all times voted for the occasion. For example, PDP has at all times made important affect in Lagos State as a result of the igbo dwelling in Lagos State have at all times voted for the occasion. Why would Secondus attempt to insult the sensibility of the South-East.”

Insisting that fairness, equity and pure justice favoured the South East for the president, the group stated that the PDP boss has insulted the Igbo.

The youths, due to this fact, gave him seven days to retract the statement whereas urging the management of the PDP to name its Nationwide Chairman to order earlier than he destroyed the party.
