In recent times, rape and Racism has been a major tragedy that has hit the whole universe as a whole ,with increasing cases reported every day .
In the European nations, they are faced with heavy force of Racism which seperates the white people from the black people which has caused lots of acrimony and agony in the present world.
It was recorded that on the 25th of may 2020, a black man was killed in Minneapolis ,Minnesota, during an arrest allegedly using a counterfeit bill.
History has it that a white police officer knelt on his neck for 9 minutes which eventually leading to his death.
Moments before his departure to the other world, he was quoted saying, “I CAN’T BREATHE”
His death gave birth to a universal protest against Racism.
Shifting attention from Racism, another issue that aught to be dealt with urgently is RAPE.
What is rape?
Rape Is a sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other type of sexual penetration against a person’s wish and desire.
Recently in the black world, there has been an astronomic increase in reported cases of Rape leading to deaths especially in western Africa ,Nigeria to be precise.
Rape in Nigeria has led to the death of countless of young and old women including the death of a young girl named “UWA” who was gang raped and murdered.
There has been much pressure from the corporate world to Silence and completely eradicate the double “RR” (Rape and Racism) from our world,
in keeping with this,
Hon. Sylvester oluwadahusi Ogunkelu , Honourable member ,Lagos state house of assembly, representing epe constituency ii, has come out in full force to say a “BIG NO” to Rape and Racism.
He has embarked on several measures to ensuring the total eradication of the double “RR”( Rape and Racism) from our world.
Measures which includes :
Educational campaign against the double, “RR” ( Rape and Racism ),
Supporting the girl child,
Supporting the victims ,
Sponsorhip programs ,
Empowerment schemes,
Making sure a culprit faces the law,
To mention but few.
Hon.sylvester oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu is a well known politician in Lagos state for his philanthropic gesture and services to his people, he also went further to lay emphasis on those who are chasing clout by wrongly accusing people of Rape, he urged them to stop it, but to all come together in unity to push out the double “RR” ( Rape and Racism) from our world.
Say a BIG NO to Rape, and always remember that black live matters too by saying a BIG NO to Racism.
