Former Ondo speaker jostles for APC deputy governorship slot

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Jumoke Akindele, has been accused of lobbying to pick the All Progressives Congress Deputy Governor slot under Senator Ajayi Boroffice.

She was alleged to have met with Senator Boroffice in Abuja.

Some PDP chieftains who pleaded anonymity described the action of the former Speaker as an abominable game in the field of Ondo State politics.

But some APC chieftains accused Hon Akindele of trying to destabilize their well thought planned in the APC.

The APC chieftains noted that “Instead of her running campaign for an APC aspirant while she is in PDP, it is better she decamp to APC for a free level playing else PDP should call her to order.”

Reacting to the allegations, Hon Akindele said she has never met with Senator Boroffice.

Hon Akindele said she was not interested in running for the office of a governor or deputy governor.

Akindele stated that she was actively involved in the campaign for Ondo South senatorial district to produce the next Governor of the state.

She described the allegations as tissues of lies.
