In a tweet on its Twitter handle, @CanadaFP, the federal government wrote, “Canada is deeply involved concerning the extreme use of drive during the ongoing protests in #Nigeria. These answerable for #HumanRights violations and abuse should be held accountable.”
Amid pictorial and video evidences of the massacre, the Nigerian authorities had denied the report.
Nevertheless, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday confirmed that it was troopers that carried out the shooting.
The action of the Nigerian soldiers had been extensively condemned by each local and international bodies.
