Ethiopia’s Ex-Correspondences minister Bereket Simon has been condemned to six years in jail for debasement.
The ex-serve who was a nearby partner recently executive Meles Zenawi was condemned by a court in Bahirdar, north Ethiopia.
He was captured at his living arrangement in the capital, Addis Ababa, in January 2019 and taken to Bahirdar, capital of the Amhara area – the second biggest of Ethiopia’s nine states.

Bereket has been in detainment until saw as blameworthy on Tuesday. A portion of his supporters had said the charges were politically propelled.
He was an amazing figure in Mr. Mele’s organization and was frequently depicted as the central ideologue of the decision alliance, the Ethiopian Individuals’ Progressive Majority rule Front (EPRDF), which came to control in the mid 1990s.
It comprised of the Amhara Vote based Gathering, the Oromo Popularity based Gathering (ODP), the Tigrayan Individuals’ Freedom Front (TPLF), and the Southern Ethiopian Individuals’ Just Development.
In 2018, Bereket was expelled from board of trustees participation by his gathering, Amhara Equitable Gathering.
The EPRDF has since been re-marked and rebuilt as the Flourishing Party under PM Abiy Ahmed – and no longer incorporates the Tigrayan Individuals’ Freedom Front (TPLF).
