Talking on Channels Tv on Thursday, Shekarau noted that by 2023, President Muhammadu Buhari who’s from the northern a part of the nation, would have been in power for eight years, and “common sense tells one which we must always look the opposite facet, to the Southern a part of Nigeria”.

“The Constitution of Nigeria or the constitution of any of the political events didn’t say if I’m from the North, my working mate should be from the South. It’s not written but if today, I’m a presidential candidate from Kano and I inform you my working mate is from Bauchi, you’ll say one thing is wrong with me.

“The presidency has simply been from the North for eight years. Common sense tells us that we must always take a look at the opposite facet, to the Southern a part of Nigeria. We must always recognise the North and the South, that is elementary geography and historical past.

“Notion is what it’s important to carry along. If you happen to proceed to dominate on one explicit facet, the notion from the opposite facet is, ‘What about me?’”
