Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu (APC-Abia), has called the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to bring out a South-east candidate as its Presidential flag bearer in the fort National convention.
Kalu, an ex-Governor of Abia, made the decision whilst chatting with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
He mentioned that so far as the party is zoning the presidential ticket to the south, the southeast should take preference to anybody else that was trying to run.

On his ambition to run for president, Kalu mentioned “I’m probably the readiest presidential candidate in Nigeria. I’m succesful health-wise, I’m succesful to stand anyone however our party, the APC.
“On the other hand, I’m a faithful party member, if the party makes a decision to zone it to some other zone, I will give my full support to the candidate, however, it will be the best that our party APC bring out a President from the South-East comes in 2023,” he mentioned.
