Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has condemned the shooting of Nigerians during a protest at Lekki toll gate on Tuesday.
He made this known in a post on his verified social media handles.
The former Kwara State governor cautioned that “Killing our defenceless youth is incorrect — whatever the circumstance”.
He warned that Nigeria is killing its future by killing youths.
He stated, “I’ve watched with horror the usage of force against the Lekki #EndSARS protesters. My heart bleeds for the nation. It’s unhappy and disheartening that that is occurring. These are peaceable youth protesting to specific official issues. It’s unacceptable for any Authorities to show its weapons by itself younger individuals. What has occurred in Lekki tonight is nothing however a bloodbath.
